New Service FormsThis year, in order to ensure validity of hours, we are requiring a sponsor's signature on your hours. You can now submit a paper service hour form in person to any officers and Mrs. Fagan. On every service project, you have to get a designated sponsor's signature. YOU WILL TURN THIS FORM IN AT THE END OF EACH SEMESTER For Example: Math Mural / Nov 12th / 2 hours / *Mrs. Scherer's Signature* Since we are big kids, I trust that we don't lose this form (otherwise you'd have to go get the sponsor signatures all over again, which truly is a pain) To find it, go the the "Service Hours" tab on the website and there will be a link! If you aren't sure who the sponsor for the activity is, check this site first. If you don't find the answer, then ask Mei. Johns Hopkins CompetitionYou can get a flyer on the bulletin board in Mrs. Fagan's room. We will try to get an electronic one and put it in meeting notes. The theme is "Curiosity"! Paintings: You MUST provide a colored sketch to Mrs. Fagan/Mrs. McKinney in order to receive a canvas. Photography: Can be any size larger than 8*10, submit to Mrs. Hop! Sketch Due: Nov 9th Up to two people can collaborate on a piece. Deadline for painting : Jan 4th Mrs. Mckinney will drive them down to the jurors. You only need to complete the painting on time and submit it to Mrs. Mckinney. Youth and Government Long Sleeve Tee DesignYour main contact for this project is Diana (Our very lovely vice president) [email protected] or GroupMe We are looking for DIGITAL vectors that can be put on a long sleeve! Mrs. Clements knows someone who can print the shirts, so we don't have to fundraise or anything, just come up with the design. For anyone interested, we will accept all submissions. You can also work with a partner! For this service project, you should get your hours signed off by Diana. We will give all submissions to the YAG team and they can choose the final one. However! All submissions receive 2 service hours! Portfolio DayThe 17th Annual Art School Forum is taking place Nov 15th 2018@ Walt Whitman High School 5-7:30pm

Note: This Honors Society is for SOPHOMORES AND UP!
Application deadline October 4th! This document has all of the things we did in the 2017-2018 school year! If I missed anything, please fill in the things you did on your own college application! (Because some of the service projects were side things of other departments, like bottle cap mural and such)
Good luck on your applications and don't forget to request recommendations soon~ Here's the link! Paint colors: Silver, white, black, coyote blue, navy
Dimensions: 14 bricks across x 2 bricks tall Sponsor: Mrs.Scherer AP Calc BC Teacher We are going to paint the header "AP Calculus Wall of Fives" where under it students can paint bricks if they get a 5 (obviously). We are using calculus notation symbols to design the lettering of the text! Currently we are purchasing paint and we have a general idea of how the Math Dept wants the text to look like, so we will settle on the text design first and make it spicy afterwards!!!! We meet Thursdays after school 2:30-4:30. There will be activity buses! Start date: TBD, we have to finalize design and buy materials first! I will announce it in the "Math Mural" group chat on groupme, add it here, and put it in the calendar when it is decided. If you'd like to be added to this chat, please message me (Mei)! Participants: Mei, Diana, Wesley, Andrea, Aggy https://www.nga.gov/education/teachers/high-school-programs/museum-makers.html
This is an opportunity for incoming 11th and 12th graders that are interested in learning more about the behind the scenes of the National Gallery as well as extract a more meaningful experience at the gallery. It’s very helpful if you want to gain an insight on jobs within the museum as well as sketch with a community of artists. There is an application process to this program due very close to the start of the school year, so it’s wise the start applying now. Application Form: https://www.nga.gov/content/dam/ngaweb/Education/High%20School%20Programs/pdf/museum-maker-student-application-2017.pdf Mrs. McKinney will sponsor us on this program and has experience from prior years. The program will take 7 Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. Lunch will be provided. Dates: October 14, 21, 28 November 11, 18 December 2, 9 Mrs.Mckinney would like backup facepainters on Clarksburg day.
Since kids might want to go to other activities instead of facepainting for the whole time, we want some members as backup so we can establish a rotation on jobs. Volunteers should find Mrs.Mckinney on Friday during the event where facepainting is indicated.
